The Key Launches Summer Fellowship with Foster the Future

The Key believes that storytelling is done best when told from diverse perspectives. We’re so proud to be working with Foster the Future, a collaboration between the PRSA Foundation and agency partners, aimed at increasing diversity within the communications industry.  

PRSA Foundation invests in the next generation of public relations practitioners by awarding scholarships and grants to undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. and around the world. The Key’s Fellowship will award one BIPOC-identified or first-generation college student pursuing a major in public relations, marketing, or communications an 8-week paid summer Apprenticeship.

Scholarship Criteria:

Judges will be looking for applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • A registered full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.
  • A rising junior or senior.
  • BIPOC-identified and/or first-generation college student (a student whose parent(s) have not earned a four-year college degree in the United States.
  • Pursuing a major in public relations, marketing, or communications.
  • A GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Ability to work in person at The Key PR's office in San Francisco, CA three days per week.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, have a state-issued ID and second form of identification for hourly work.
  • Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a career in technology public relations and the technology industry.

  • A personal statement of up to 250 words:
    • What are your career goals, how would this experience serve you, and what do you seek to gain from this experience?
